Moisture-Proofing Methods for Trench Covers

2017-06-16

Trench covers are typically used in indoor spaces of industrial and civil buildings, as well as within residential communities; they can also be found on roads and alongside streets. In addition to trench covers, we offer stainless steel manhole covers and other related products.

These products provide safety protection, are easy to install, environmentally friendly, and suitable for applications such as water supply and electrical engineering.

Although stainless steel manhole covers and trench grates have long served a protective function, prolonged exposure—combined with the presence of water in the trenches—will gradually cause damage to the cover plates.

If the cover plates—manhole covers—can dehumidify, many problems can be resolved: it prevents long-term moisture in cable trenches from damaging the cables, while also providing ventilation and offering numerous benefits to maintenance and construction personnel. The dehumidification system comprises a front-end cover and a rear-end cover; each is equipped with an external inspection cover, and each contains a metal mesh screen. Inside the front-end cover, within the metal mesh, there is a ventilation fan, while inside the rear-end cover, also within the metal mesh, there is a temperature‑and‑humidity sensor.

This is a good solution that can effectively protect manhole covers and extend their service life.
