Resin Drainage Channel Case Study: Djibouti Port
2026/02/09 10:26
The Republic of Djibouti is located in northeastern Africa, on the western shore of the Gulf of Aden, controlling the crucial Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the gateway from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean. It borders Somalia to the southeast, Eritrea to the north, and Ethiopia to the west, southwest, and south. It has a land border of 520 kilometers and a coastline of 372 kilometers, with a land area of 23,200 square kilometers.
Djibouti is one of the world’s least developed countries. It is poor in natural resources, has a weak industrial and agricultural base, and relies on imports for over 95% of its agricultural and industrial products. Transportation, commerce, and services (mainly port services) dominate the economy, accounting for approximately 80% of GDP. Port and rail transport play a vital role in the national economy.
The Port of Djibouti is one of the most important ports in East Africa. As is well known, ports are the junction of sea and land transport, bases for industrial activities, centers of integrated logistics, growth drivers for urban development, and promoters of socio-economic development. This drainage project at the Port of Djibouti selected our resin drainage channels, totaling 1082 meters, paired with F900 ductile iron covers, high-load-bearing covers suitable for use in airports, ports, and similar locations.
Features of Resin Drainage Channeles:
1. Resin Drainage Channeles are constructed from resin material, which is resistant to acids and alkalis, chemical corrosion, and exhibits excellent pressure resistance. Its outstanding environmental stability enables it to withstand the complex conditions found in port environments and effectively prevent seawater erosion.
2. The covers are made of our highest load-bearing-capacity F900 ductile iron, meeting the pressure requirements of cargo and vehicles passing through ports. This further extends the service life of the Drainage Channel.
3. Resin Drainage Channeles feature a linear design with an elegant appearance; the cross-section of the ditch is U-shaped, allowing for large drainage capacity; the smooth inner wall of the ditch prevents debris accumulation and ensures high drainage efficiency.
4. This project is located in Africa, resulting in a long transportation process. Our resin Drainage Channeles are prefabricated in one piece at the factory, making them lighter than ordinary concrete Drainage Channeles. Their uniform specifications facilitate convenient transportation and reduce transportation costs.
5. Resin Drainage Channeles are not only popular domestically but also overseas, ultimately due to their outstanding quality, which has gained recognition both domestically and internationally. They are also suitable products for my country's sponge city construction.
Therefore, we can see that our resin drainage channels can be used in many places, and are equally popular and favored in areas with high load-bearing requirements. Examples include airport docks, municipal gardens, highways, and roads where large vehicles such as fire trucks must pass. Resin drainage channels, with their superior performance, offer new possibilities for our drainage construction.
